"Love Is All Effectually" is a song recorded by English rock band the Troggs, featuring a string quartet and a 'tick tock' sound on percussion, in D-major. It was written by lead singer Reg Presley and was purportedly inspired by a television transmission of the Joy Strings Salvation Army band's "Love That's All Effectually".[1] [2] The song was first released equally a single in the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland in October 1967, peaking at number 5. On the Hot 100, the record entered at number 98 on 24 Feb 1968, peaked at number 7 on eighteen May 1968, was on the chart a full of 16 weeks, and ranked number 40 for all of 1968.

On the United kingdom Singles Chart top fifty, the tape debuted at number 50 on 18 October 1967[11] (using the Wednesday appointment system)[12] (date derived from 21 October 1967[13] and 28 October 1967[xiv]), peaked at number v on 22 November 1967[15] (using the Midweek date system)[16] (date derived from 25 November 1967[17]), and appeared xv directly times.

On 15 May 1994, "Dearest Is All Around" entered the UK Singles Chart at number four. Afterward climbing to number two the post-obit calendar week, it reached number 1 on 29 May.[24] It then remained there for 15 weeks, the joint tertiary-longest Uk nautical chart reign of all time (beaten simply by Frankie Laine's "I Believe" which clocked up 18 weeks at the pinnacle during the 1950s and Bryan Adams' song from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, "(Everything I Do) I Practise It for You", which was number 1 for 16 sequent weeks in 1991) with Drake'due south "Ane Dance" which also stayed at the top for 15 weeks in 2016. "Beloved Is All Around" spent a further 20 weeks in the UK Top 75.[25] Throughout its chart run, some radio stations banned the song, as many listeners were fed upwardly of hearing information technology for so long. The band themselves eventually took the determination to delete the record from sale, merely did not manage to tie with Adams as "Sat Night" by Whigfield entered direct at the top on 11 September 1994, with Wet Wet Moisture dropping to number two.[26] [27]

Reg Presley famously spent some of his songwriting royalties on crop circle research.[28] Pellow also recorded his own version of the song for inclusion on his 2002 anthology Marti Pellow Sings the Hits of Wet Moisture Wet & Smiling.
